Company Visit | Associate Professor Jack Woo led the business school students to visit the Ali Center in South China, headquartered in Pazhou, Guangzhou

Recently, Associate Professor Jack Woo led two second-year international business students from the School of Business, Chen Xuan and Huang Tongxi, to join Ali Center in South China, headquartered in Pazhou, Guangzhou. Mr. Tommy Lin, Senior Expert of the Space Delivery Operation Department of the Administration Department of Alibaba Group's General Affairs Line, warmly received him and explained the scope and importance of facility management in detail to the teachers and students. Through the insights of senior expert Mr. Tommy Lin. Deep technical teachers and students understand the business models and contract governance frameworks adopted by different enterprises, increase students' understanding of practical courses and industry practical experience, and understand the future needs and expectations of enterprises for interns and fresh graduates, and understand industry trends and dynamics.

Alibaba's South China operation center and Ant Financial's Guangzhou headquarters are located in Pazhou, Guangzhou. Alibaba will focus on combining cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence with Guangzhou's deep-rooted manufacturing industry to provide digital transformation solutions for advanced industrial clusters in the Pearl River Delta. On April 6, 2021, Alibaba's South China Operation Center in the west area of the Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone was officially put into use, accommodating more than 6,000 employees. According to reports, under the intelligent system of Alibaba South China Operation Center, employees can scan and adjust the brightness of lights through mobile phone operation, and turn on and off the air conditioner at will. The meeting rooms are all reservation system, which can support remote work, and the building is also equipped with flexible space to move tables and chairs for random audio and video conferencing.
