Exploring Collaborations: BS Research Team Visited Shing Hing Plastic Manufacturing Limited

October 31, 2025 – A joint research team composed of scholars from the School of Business at Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University conducted a one-day in-depth research visit to Shing Hing Plastic Products Limited in Zhangmutou, Dongguan. The aim of the visit was to collaborate with the company in developing teaching and research cases centered on its practices in digital transformation, brand innovation, and ESG, while exploring potential models for industry-education integration.

Mr. Calvin Hu, Founder and Chairman of Shing Hing Plastic, along with his team, engaged in in-depth discussions with the research team, which included Associate Professor Chen Hao and Associate Professor Cui Di from the SZTU School of Business, Associate Professor Hao Jie from the Tsinghua School of Economics and Management, and undergraduate student Zhang Jian from SZTU.

Following the discussions, the research team toured the production facility, observing digital injection molding lines, automated quality inspection processes, and product assembly and packaging workflows. Through on-site production monitoring systems, the team gained further insight into how IoT devices enable real-time data collection, facilitating transparent management of order progress, equipment utilization, and product defect rates.

In the product display area, team members examined the company’s signature animal model series and newly developed wooden toys up close. Upon concluding the visit, both parties expressed their commitment to collaboratively distill Shing Hing’s valuable experiences for business education and research, while exploring diverse forms of university-enterprise cooperation.
