“AI-Powered Case Storytelling: A Campus Short Video Creation Competition”, organized by the Global Case Discovery System (GCDS), leverages high-quality cases integrated from numerous renowned case research institutions. It provides abundant materials for teachers and students to study business decisions and explore management incidents.
Given the advancement of digitalization and AI technology, GCDS has specially launched this nationwide short video creation competition. The aim is to motivate teachers and students to thoroughly analyze cases and explore the innovative applications of AI tools in academic communication. It encourages participants to "reconstruct" cases through videos, showcasing the value of cases in a dynamic and visual way.
Under the guidance of Associate Professor CHEN Hao from our school and Associate Professor HAO Jie from the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, students majoring in International Business at our school, YU Keyu and ZOU Dianyun, won the Excellence Award in the competition.
Below are the insights from the students:

First, I would like to express my gratitude to the teachers for their meticulous guidance, especially Professor Chen Hao. Video production, from scriptwriting to the final cut, is an extremely demanding process. Yet the teacher patiently provided us with unique and insightful suggestions, offering tremendous support.
Second, this competition experience is invaluable to us. As business students, we are no strangers to cases. Every new case I read introduces a new story, conveys a new spirit, and imparts new wisdom. However, utilizing AI—a tool at the forefront of the times—and using it effectively is a significant challenge for all of us. In terms of video editing, AI excels at script drafting and polishing, possesses certain image generation capabilities, and offers powerful post-production functions (subtitling and dubbing). Nevertheless, the application of AI in editing is not without hurdles. AI-generated videos often fail to meet expectations, requiring repeated manual adjustments and optimizations. This demands great patience and perseverance, but it also drives me to continuously explore and experiment with new methods and technologies.
Ultimately, this competition is not only a showcase of personal creativity but also a collaborative process. Different perspectives and ideas complemented and improved each other, allowing us to see more possibilities in video creation and making this participation experience more meaningful.

From initially familiarizing myself with, testing, and comparing various AI platforms to continuously refining and revising to produce the final work, we encountered many minor issues. For example, aligning motion effects with narration required adjustments bit by bit. I kept experimenting to achieve better results, and during this process, I learned many processing skills and operations from my teammate. Professor Chen Hao also continuously reviewed and revised our work. Seeing the final product filled me with a strong sense of accomplishment. I am deeply grateful to my teammate and the teacher for their help, which enabled me to master more skills. Thank you to the Case Center and Professor Chen Hao for providing this opportunity, which allowed me to gain valuable experience.
