Dr. Hao Chen is the Shenzhen Peacock Distinguished Associate Professor, Shenzhen High-level Talent. She earned her Ph.D. Degree in International Management Studies from Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. Before she joined the school, she worked as an Assistant Professor at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. She was a member of SAGE Publishing Mainland China Advisory Board, a visiting scholar at the University of Alberta (2015), and an International Faculty Fellow at MIT Sloan (2013).
Hao is currently the director of Business School’s Business Case Center, and an area editor (HR/OB) at ChinaCases.org. She has published more than 20 teaching cases in case centers such as Tsinghua SEM China Business Case Center, Harvard Business Cases, etc. She has won international and domestic teaching awards such as the Beijing Education Teaching Achievement Award, Nominee of CEMS Global Leadership Award, Best Teaching Awards (Tsinghua University), Advisor for Best Graduate Thesis (Tsinghua University), etc.
She has been the project leader/member of several research projects funded by organizations such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Tsinghua University, Chinese multinational enterprises, and listed companies. Her publications are in SSCI and CSSCI journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Academy of Management Perspectives, International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Journal of Conflict Management, Chinese Management Studies, Management Review, and practitioner journals such as Tsinghua Business Review, CEIBS Business Review, etc. Her English publications have been cited more than 2800 times at Google Scholar. She has won research awards such as the 6th “Case Writer Excellence” Case Competition (2024), 2019 Transnational Research Award (AOM), 2019 AMP Decade Award, 2013 The Most Impact Paper of 2009-2013 (AMP).
