Practice | Associate Professor Jack WOO of Business School participated in the consulting and diagnosis of enterprise digital transformation as an expert

In rarly 2023, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology Manufacturing Digital Transformation Consulting and Diagnosis Project Support Program Operation Regulations". According to the operating regulations, from 2022 to 2025, Shenzhen will fund about 2,000 digital transformation consulting and diagnosis projects for manufacturing enterprises every year. The digital transformation of manufacturing industry refers to focusing on manufacturing enterprises and their industrial chains and supply chains, using digital technologies such as industrial Internet, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, to digitally empower R&D and design, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, sales and service and other business links, reconstructing the traditional industrial manufacturing system and service system, promoting efficient collaboration and resource allocation optimization of the industrial chain and supply chain, and promoting the transformation of new models and new formats.

The manufacturing digital transformation consulting and diagnosis project (hereinafter referred to as the project) refers to the service provider determined by the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and provided to industrial enterprises in Shenzhen to help enterprises understand the current situation and shortcomings of their own digital development level, put forward the goals of enterprise digital transformation, benchmark objects in the same industry and propose implementation plans. With reference to the relevant national standards of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on the digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises, such as intelligent manufacturing and the integration of industrialization and industrialization, consultation and diagnosis will be carried out for the whole link of enterprise research, production, supply, marketing, service, management, etc., and the "Consulting and Diagnosis Report" will be issued in accordance with the principle of "one enterprise, one policy". The project requires on-site diagnosis services, comprehensive use of on-site research, written data evaluation, personnel interviews, etc., to carry out enterprise digital transformation consulting and diagnosis, and issue a diagnostic report to the enterprise. On-site consultation and diagnosis requirements include: each enterprise on-site diagnosis service is not less than 4 times, each time not less than 3 hours. The on-site diagnosis content should include but not be limited to interview communication, technical diagnosis, program communication, theme training, and reporting of diagnostic results to the senior management of the enterprise. The number of on-site diagnosis members is not less than 4, of which no less than 1 person with intermediate or above professional titles or experts.

During April 2023, according to the unified arrangement of the School of Quality and Standards, Associate Professor Jack WOO of the School of Business participated in the digital transformation consulting and diagnosis work of Shenzhen Mason Vap Technology Co., Ltd. as an expert, and issued expert diagnosis opinions to assist the Shenzhen manufacturing industry to promote the digital transformation work in an orderly manner, realize the digital transformation led by digital transformation consulting and diagnosis, and help the high-quality development of Shenzhen's manufacturing industry.
