On April 3, 2024, Professor Wang Yunxia visited Guangzhou Hongjin Trading Co., Ltd. located in Futian District. During the visit, Professor Wang mainly discussed with the company's director, Mr. Chen Jingwen, about the differences in operational models of foreign trade platforms, how graduating students interested in foreign trade should plan their career directions, and the forms of entrepreneurship. Mr. Chen, speaking from the perspective of an independent entrepreneur, suggested that graduating students should not immediately venture into entrepreneurship upon graduation. Instead, he advised them to first intern at relevant companies to understand and master the operational rules of relevant platforms, and then decide whether to start their own businesses. Entrepreneurship requires some level of experience and resources, and careful consideration should be given before making a decision.

This internship visit highlighted the importance of internships, which serve not only as exchanges between individual students and companies but also as interactions and collaborations between educational institutions and enterprises. The value of internships cannot be simply measured by their level of difficulty; rather, attention should be paid to how students apply their learned knowledge and skills and what kind of growth and gains they obtain from the experience. In the workplace environment, students will have better opportunities to hone their professional skills, laying a solid foundation for their future career development.
