Dr Wang earned her PhD in Marketing at the University of Edinburgh, where her doctoral research was fully funded by the China Scholarship Council and the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this, she undertook an MSc in Consumer Marketing at the University of Liverpool.

Dr Wang joined the Business School in 2024 after working in the higher education industry for more than six years in the UK. She obtained an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in May 2021 and has developed a mature higher education teaching experience in the UK.

Besides, she has gained various industry experiences from working for Cisco in China, one of the largest cancer charities, Maggie's Centre, in the UK, and some other industry roles in the past years. She also had start-up experiences gained from creating her own company in the UK and worked in this role for around two years before joining the Business School.

Dr Wang's research is focused on several areas: digital marketing, service marketing, healthcare marketing, consumer behaviour, start-up business, etc. Her expertise is in mixed methods, particularly for case studies and qualitative methods.
