Profs Yanfei and Hak attended the International Society for Energy Transition Studies in Nanjing 1-4 November. In particular, Prof Yanfei organised and led the industry forum on green hydrogen Project-to-X, where Prof Hak also spoke on project financing.
The forum is part of a continuing engagement with top thinktanks, leading energy companies and renown financial institutions to push forward a new public-private partnership (PPP) model to enable and materialize large-scale low-carbon hydrogen energy projects in the Asia-Pacific region. This could be a critical move to resolve the bottleneck of international hydrogen projects, not only in the region, but also globally, as many announced projects are stranded at the stage right before the critical step of financial investment decision.
Key participants included Shenzhen Technology University, Peking University, Centre for Strategic Energy and Resources of Singapore, Mongolian Hydrogen Council, National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen Energy Group, China General Nuclear, Sinosynergy, Guangdong Kinkye Gas and Green Investors AG.
