A Business Case Center (BCC) team at Business School SZTU (BCC Director: Hao Chen, International Business 2020 students Jing Tang and Jianning Yu) was invited by the Champions Fundation to write the 2023 Athlete Entrepreneurship Report and the full report was published on February 7, 2024.

The report focuses on retired athletes’ entrepreneurial endeavors in China who have at least two years of entrepreneurial experiences. Through literature review, online and offline interviews, the research team explores their entrepreneurial motives, history, progress and challenges, achievements and experiences, etc. On the one hand, the report shares findings and insights on entrepreneurial explorations of retired Chinese athletes. On the other hand, it hopes to bring inspiration to those who are planning to engage in entrepreneurial tryouts.

The Champion Fundation (http://www.championfoundation.com.cn/) was established by Winter Olympic champion and IOC member Yang Yang together with the China Red Cross in May 2011 in Beijing. It dedicates to serve athletes and young talents in China to provide support and training to their career development outside of sports.
