In the afternoon April 21. Classroom 547 and 550 of C-5 Teaching Building., The Vice Dean, Professor Li Jie from Business School Held two consecutive in-class seminars for 2020 International Business students. The guest speaker is Mr. Luo Pengwei, the Founder and Managing Director of Yishi Asset. Mr. Luo has 20 years’ experience in finance industry, including investment banking, security company, public fund and private fund. He founded his own private fund and hedge fund since 2014 in Hong Kong and ranked among the top in the industry. To avoid large gathering under covid-19 control situation, the seminars were exclusively intended for the two teaching classes, but there are still external students came in. Mr. Luo spoke about basic theories and logic of economics, finance, and investment based on his own experience and cases, and also the passcode for nation wealth and personal success.

The seminar covered investment banking, hedge fund, investment in security market, technical analysis, fundamental analysis, and specifically investment processes. He mentioned some key theories and their application in market, and shared his thought about the functionality of IQ and EQ in individual career. He pointed out that learn from others is the best way of fast learning based on good relationship with people around a person and also the targeted groups, industries, and companies. Students are active in interacting, asking questions about industry analysis, stock selection, macroeconomic conditions and micro level companies. The 2020 International Business students are facing specialization selection in near future, and this seminar came in the right timing in walking them through this finance industry dynamics.
