Welcome in Regensburg: Dean's First Lecture

On October 15, Holger Haldenwang, Dean of Business School, gave an excellent lecture to students majoring in International Business.



Dean Holger Haldenwang first introduced himself, and combined with the map of Germany, he talked about cities in Germany and his hometown, and his story during the isolation in a kind and vivid tone. Secondly, Dean compared the population of Shenzhen and Guangzhou with that of Germany, which made students to better understand the population in Germany, and intuitively showed the industrial development status in China and Germany with professional data and comparative charts, so as to make students understand Germany in an all-round way and broaden their international vision. Then, in comparison with other countries around the world, Dean Haldenwang used relevant professional knowledge of economics and business to teach students the theoretical knowledge and business insights closely related to industrial activities.



During the whole lecture, students listened carefully and actively answered questions. The humorous Dean also made the whole audience laugh with joking words and posture from time to time, which brought excellent class atmosphere. Students was in high enthusiasm, and the Dean was also immersed in the teaching and conducting communication and interaction with the students throughout the whole lecture. At the end of the lecture, the Dean released pictures of German food and scenic spots and introduced some unique German activities, which increased the students’ interest in deeply understanding German culture.

Shi Yaming: I feel that the Dean's lecture is full of interest, which makes me feel very novel. The lecture is also very rich in content, clear and humorous. It's like chatting with a family member.

 

Jin Zijing: After listening to the Dean's lecture, I feel that the Dean is very kind and lovely. He knows how to get along with the students, and the class atmosphere is very relaxed and pleasant. Through the lecture, we also learned the basic situation of global GDP, and also got a deeper understanding of the cooperation between Germany and China. We hope to hear the Dean's lecture again.

 

Chen Miaosen: Dean Holger is very kind and attractive. The lecture is fascinating. He talked about the knowledge of global economy and industry, which broadens our understanding. Although some of the contents are not talked in depth due to lack of time, we are deeply impressed by his enthusiasm and interaction. We are looking forward to the next exchange with the Dean.

 

Yao Jiatong: I think the Dean is very kind and didn’t speak at a fast speed, so I can understand more than 50% of the lecture. Overall I feel very good ~

   

Luo Chuni: Dean Holger is a very approachable and attractive professor. After listening to the lecture, we can feel the enthusiasm and humor of the Dean. The lecture broadens our international vision and we also gained a lot of knowledge. It is a very high-quality lecture. Although my English ability is limited and I can't understand some of the contents, after listening to this lecture today, I am more determined to learn English well and look forward to interacting and communicating with the Dean in the next lecture.
