Topic: China on the path to Carbon Neutrality. What does it mean for business?

Time: May 11, 2021 1500-1900

Location: 108, C5 Teaching Building, SZTU

Speaker: Ma Jingjing, NORDIQ Group

Sponsor: Professor Gordana Kierans

In September 2020, President Xi Jinping announced at the United Nations General Assembly that China will strive to peak its carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The Central Economic Work Conference also listed "achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality" as one of the key tasks in 2021. The introduction and implementation of carbon peak and carbon neutral targets will be a long-term policy signal of China's low-carbon economic transition, which will bring a series of new challenges and opportunities to China's transportation, construction, energy, industry, and other industries, and may change the development pattern of relevant industries and give rise to many new investment opportunities.

China is on the path to Carbon Neutrality. What does it mean for your company? Are you ready for this transition? The SZTU Centre for Circular Economy invited Ma Jingjing, General Manager of NORDIQ Group in China, to interpret relevant policies in the field of carbon neutrality, and to have an in-depth discussion on the low-carbon transformation of enterprises and the direction and development path of industry. As co-founder of the NORDIQ Group in Denmark, Ms. Ma has a strong understanding of the political agenda in China, specifically within sustainability as she has on various occasions acted as trusted advisor for high-level politicians and officials. She has over 17 years of professional experience in climate change, low carbon city planning, sustainable urban planning framework development, slow traffic mobility system advice, ecological regional framework development and built environment projects. This seminar aims to provide a platform for all participants to communicate, learn and exchange ideas. We sincerely invite you to participate in this conference to share topics related to carbon neutrality and circular economy.
