Dr. Henry Cheah is the Associate Professor of Marketing at Business School, Shenzhen Technology University. He is also the Distinguished Foreign Talent – Type C characterized by the Shenzhen Government. He obtained his Ph.D. in Marketing from Monash University, and he had worked there since until he joined SZTU in 2019. He also poses Master of Business Administration MBA degree from the University of Malaya with high distinction. He was a visiting scholar at European Business School, Germany.
Before joining academia in 2017, he was an entrepreneur and had hands-on experience in international marketing. Henry was in the furniture export business for 17 years. His furniture products were exported to 47 countries, mainly to North America and the Middle East. This diverse background shapes his teaching style, where he brings the real business world to the classroom. He is also a believer in action learning and has won several awards.
He has published in more than 10 SSCI Indexed journals, including Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Housing Studies, Habitat International, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, Journal f Product and Brand Management, International Journal of Qualitative Research Methods, European Journal of Innovation Management and British Food Journal, to name a few. He is also a peer reviewer for some established international journals such as the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, Marketing Intelligence & Planning, Journal of Strategic Marketing, International Journal of Emerging Markets and Journal of Internet Commerce.
Currently he co-supervised a PhD student. Besides, he has also guided students in a few nationwide competitions and thus far has accumulated multiple prizes and awards.
